For buyers, feedlots and sale barns
Not built yet. This page describes what producer to producer transfer will do when it ships, which is after the November 2026 launch rather than at it. Nothing on this page works in the app today. We will take this note down the day it does.
When a producer sells you an animal, the paperwork usually stops at the sale. maiGrex is being built so the history can come with it.
Receiving records will be free. You will not need a paid account to take delivery of an animal's history. There will be nothing to buy on this side.
What a transferred record will contain
- Photographs of the animal over its life, not just at the sale.
- The structured history: ear tag and any earlier ear tags, weights, dates, breed, lineage, and the attributes the producer recorded along the way.
- Roughly where each observation happened.
- Who recorded it. Anything from before the transfer will be marked as recorded by the previous owner, so you know what came from where.
What it will not contain
A transfer will carry the animal's record, not the seller's private information. It will not include their voice recordings, the written notes from those recordings, or their precise coordinates. That stays with them.
It is also not a health certificate, an inspection, or a regulatory filing. maiGrex is a record keeping tool. It does not detect, diagnose, or treat anything, and nothing in a record is veterinary advice or a finding about an animal. What you are getting is a documented history, which is worth having, and it does not replace your own inspection or your vet.

Less guessing at intake
You can see what the animal looked like months ago, not just today, and what the producer noticed along the way.
The history keeps going
Once the animal is yours, your observations continue the same record. Nothing restarts.
It costs you nothing
Receiving and viewing records is free. Producers pay for the tool; buyers do not.
It travels again
When you move the animal on, the record moves with it, and your tenure is part of it.
